COPYFLARE is designed to minimize data collection and avoid storing unnecessary personal information. We aim to collect the minimum amount of data necessary to provide a fast and simple file-sharing experience.

• Files are temporary and automatically deleted
• We do not sell your data
• Anyone with the link can access the file

Information You Provide

• Files: Any files you voluntarily upload to our service
• File metadata: File names, file sizes, upload timestamps, and expiration settings
• Share links: URLs generated for file sharing
• Payment information: When you make a payment through PayPal, we may receive and store your PayPal email address and transaction details

Information from Third-Party Payment Processors

PayPal transactions: We use PayPal as our payment processor. When you make a payment, PayPal may share the following information with us:

• PayPal email address associated with the payment
• Transaction ID
• Payment amount and currency
• Transaction date and time
• Payment status
• Payer name (if provided by PayPal)

Note: We do NOT store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or full financial information. These are processed and stored securely by PayPal according to their privacy policy.

Automatically Collected Information

• IP addresses: Your device's IP address when accessing the service

File Retention & Deletion (Overview)

Files are stored temporarily and are deleted automatically based on their expiration settings. For full details on how long files are stored, how the hourly deletion process works, and how free and premium users can delete files, please see the dedicated "File Retention & Deletion" section below.

We DO NOT sell your personal information.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Public sharing: Files you upload and share via links are accessible to anyone with the link
• Payment processors: We share necessary information with PayPal to process payments (they already have this information from the transaction)
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request
• Service providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating our service (hosting, analytics, etc.)
• Safety and security: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of COPYFLARE, our users, or the public
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred

• We implement reasonable security measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction
• You are responsible for how you use files uploaded or downloaded through the service
• While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely secure.

• No content monitoring: We do not routinely monitor, review, or inspect the content of uploaded files
• No scanning: We do not scan files for viruses or malicious content
• No encryption guarantee: Files are not intended to be used as secure or encrypted storage
• Public accessibility: Files are accessible to anyone with the link
• No privacy guarantee: Do not upload sensitive, confidential, or personal information unless you accept the privacy risks

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Free Users - Files: Files and access codes are available for download only for the time period you select. After the link expires, a process that runs approximately once per hour permanently deletes expired files and access codes. Once this occurs, files cannot be recovered.
• Premium Users - Files: Premium users can:
  • Manually delete files at any time through the "Active Links" feature (the link becomes inactive immediately and the file is permanently deleted within about one hour), and
  • Rely on automatic deletion, where expired files are permanently deleted by the same hourly deletion process described above.
• No Backups / No Recovery: Deleted files (whether automatically or manually deleted) are not backed up and cannot be restored. No file content is retained after deletion.
• Other Data Retention: Limited logs, metadata, and account information may be retained for a reasonable period for operational, security, and legal purposes (for example, payment records such as PayPal email addresses and transaction details may be kept for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes, typically up to 7 years or as required by law).

COPYFLARE is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Legal basis for processing: Processing is based on providing and operating the service (contractual necessity), maintaining security and preventing abuse (legitimate interest), and complying with legal, accounting, and tax obligations.

We provide the service "as-is" and make no guarantees regarding the security, privacy, or confidentiality of your information or files.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to Copyflare.org. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
